How about we take a small trip across the pond?


Let me take you to a little place called Kent, Britain. Home of a super rad indie band by the name of Island Cassettes.

Island Cassettes

Island Cassettes is a five piece unsigned indie band from Kent, Britain. Let's meet them, shall we:

James Smith - Vocals/Guitar

Toby Hinks - Guitar/Vocals

Emily Chantler - Drums

Mike Medcalf - Bass

Jordan Stevens - Percussion

The band first started as a three piece with singers and guitarists James Smith and Toby Hinks alongside drummer Emily Chantler. They gigged all over for a while until adding bassist Mike Medcalf and percussionist Jordan Stevens about 10 months ago. The now five piece band play shows wherever and whenever they can.


Now if you like bands like Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, and Two Door Cinema Club then you'll absolutely most definitely love Island Cassettes. They've got a super groovy and bouncy sound that just makes you want to dance around like a hippie in a flower field!


Ok so maybe that's a little descriptive, but hey! That's what I felt like doing when I sat and had a listen to their debut self titled album Island Cassettes.

I'm quite upset that they live across a massive ocean and I wont get the chance to see them play live! At least I bought their album and can listen to them whenever I please.
