Meet Elijah & The Moon (or as I've taken a liking to call them The Moon Children. I don't know why. Don't ask.)

This lovely group started out with Mr. Elijah Wolf-Christensen releasing a crazy good ep called 'As Tall As The Sun' last year. Enter bassist Gianluca and violinist Kenny and thus Elijah & The Moon was born!
They recently added drummer Jeremy to the lineup and now a complete band is made.
The first time I heard these guys I immediately thought 'Oh cool. They're like....the Mumford & Sons of SUNY Purchase.'
Their sound is very indie/folk with pretty strings and simple yet powerful drums. They've got really cool chorus' that are catchy and very easy to sing along to. After hearing the chorus once or twice you'll notice that you're already singing along.
As I mentioned earlier, Elijah released an EP called 'As Tall As The Sun' in 2012. My roommate describes it, and I quote, "I feel like I'm in the pines. With a flannel shirt." Then she proceeds to hum along.
If you like indie folk music, these guys are for you.
My favorite song off that EP would have to be the title track 'As Tall As The Sun'
It's really chill and has a beautiful violin break before it gets cheery and makes you wanna dance with strangers around a campfire, plus the lyrics are sweet.

This past august they released an album called 'The Lonesome World Beyond The Trees'. Even though a year had past since 'As Tall As The Sun' you can really hear the growth in the music.
I think the reason I like this album so much is because they have a similar sound to my favorite band on the planet, Local Natives. Their harmonies are super tight and lovely, also violins make such beautiful sounds.
